Last year I had error code: "System Overheat". Cleared it by running heater for short periods. This winter got same code then it went to "Overheating sensor open load or shortcut". Only get error code now and heater will not start. Anyone have ideas or experience sourcing parts or repairing a Calaer heater?

I think Calaer / Reformrtech is out of business. Searching turns up a few places still selling them. I had one two boats ago. Gave up on it, unreliable and poor to no support.

If I still had one and wanted to keep it going I'd spend some time on YouTube learning about Chinese diesel heater troubleshooting and repair.

I suspect the Calaer was a Chinese heater badged for Calaer.

Better yet replace with one of the Chinese heaters.

Sounds like an over temp sensor has failed. You can temporarily jump the sensor to see if that helps. If it does then any over temp sensor with the correct parameters will work.

There's a youtube channel - John McK 47 - that goes into detail how Chinese heaters work.
It is good info over several videos.
