Submitted my documentation paperwork to the USCG on April 13th changing ownership to me and renaming the boat. Was told it would take 4-6 weeks, probably closer to 6. Tomorrow will end week 10. This length of time sound normal? Anyone else been through the process lately? I did see activity on it on the website. Previous owners satisfaction of lien around the time I bought it. Then one night I searched and saw the boat listed with the new name we gave her. Then.....it was gone a day or two later and just the old info was showing. Strange. Now it shows nothing but I think that is due to a website problem of some sort.
All this makes me think that I should submit my renewal next year about 6 months before it is due. Why they have this as an annual requirement is beyond me. Seems like they can't handle the work load very well....
