We were on board a Clipper 40 (Europa) recently and despite a predilection for raised pilothouse trawlers fell for the walkaround under cover deck with, I would guess, 6ft 6in headroom both inside and out. The Clipper is a Chinese sourced boat based, I think, on the CHB hull, and marketed in Australasia and Europe. The new North Pacific 38 Sedan is similar.
We were wondering about the feasibility of investing less in an older model with the option of upgrading where necessary and with smaller ultimate depreciation should we ever sell! We hope to leave that to our beneficiaries!
My question is: what is the headroom, both internal and in the cockpit and side decks, on Europa style Island Traders and Performance Trawlers vintage 1985 + .
I have learned through the forum that at least one was not suitable for a 6ft 4in person and I am 6ft 3ins.
We intend to become cruise-aboards.
Thought it best to open this to non-owners as someone else may have the knowledge.
Any info appreciated thanks, Grae.
