Jeez, you guys are a tough bunch. This film was not a sailing documentary! Just a setting for an existential dilemma . Do police or legal forums go on and on about the inaccuracies in procedure in crime dramas? First this was an interesting film technically as there was only one actor and no dialog. Not an easy accomplishment to hold together a story. The point was to ponder who he was, how he got there at that point in his life, and if his dogged efforts would succeed.
Sit back and relax.....

You're right Angus. I can imagine what the NASA engineers had to say about the technical aspects of the Star Trek movie.

Real law enforcement officers laugh at most TV cop shows. Real Executive Chefs sneer at most TV cooking shows.

I've family and friends in both positions that I have had discussions with.

Myself... I watch neither and while wife occasionally does I research for my business needs on the net or post on forums.

I'm with you, Dan, although we may be the only ones. Personally, I think that it was a tour de force by Redford. What I think is completely immaterial, of course, but when Roger Ebert agrees with me, then that carries a bit more weight. Doubters might want to google "movie review ebert all is lost." He does not give that sort of rating unless he is pretty darned impressed!

To each his own. Glad you liked it. Many others did not...doesn't make them wrong or you wrong. Just different opinions.

We don't have to agree on a topic to discuss it. But I'll say that for me, there wasn't much to sit back and enjoy while relaxing in that movie. I couldn't wait for it to be over.
