Thanks for response. That seems to be best route through my research. Gotta love these unexpected projects.
Dear Navesink,
Watch out for those
unexpected projects, as they can unexpectedly grow. I tried to sell a GB 36 Classic a few years ago that needed new fuel tanks but failed to sell. After investigating the replacement of fuel tanks, I decided to hire a small marina/boat repairman to replace the tanks. He took the boat to a boatyard where he knew the owner and would allow him to work on it a couple of weeks. By the time we were finished, we had made these repairs:
New fuel tanks.
New fuel hoses.
Shafts straightened and aligned.
New shaft seals.
Port shaft log serviced
New sanitation lines. Serviced vacuflush pump on forward head, Replaced baffles and check valves (“duckbills”) on vacuflush for aft head. Overhauled aft head.
New AC lines. New AC manifold.
New fuel manifold.
New water heater.
Bottom painted.
Swim platform re-glued.
Forward hatch re-glued
Exterior re-varnished.
Autopilot serviced.
Boot stripe repainted.
New salon AC installed.
New AMG house batteries installed.
Rear 50-amp inlet replaced.
New seawater pump for refrigerator.
Holding tank cleaned and serviced.
Bilges cleaned and aft engine room painted.
LED bulbs in engine room lights. (One not illuminating).
Engine room catwalk repaired.
New paint in forward and aft staterooms.
She looks wonderful! Will post pictures one of these days. Best wishes on your project!
