Don't know whether many will have both iThings and A-things... to compare apps side by side...

I do.

I use an iPad for navigation. It's great. It just works. I use a Garmin GLO for GPS input. The only time it let me down was due to an iOS upgrade that blocked GPS location from Bluetooth.

That said, the same programs work fine on my Android devices. I don't notice any difference in features.

I love my Google Pixel phone. It rocks. I know two hard core Apple people who have switched so far. I work with a guy who has his name on 3 patents with Apple when he worked there as a co-op student, and he is considering the swap to a Pixel. The 7.1.1 (nougat) OS on a Pixel phone is just so integrated with daily life with Google apps. It learns and anticipates what I need, when I need it. It reminds me of Radar O'Reilly in M*A*S*H.

If Google would make a tablet, that is as good as a Pixel, it would be a game changer. But Android tablets just aren't as good or as fast as an iPad yet.
