I was wondering if anyone have experience with acoustiblok?
its a noise insulation material used around or shielding off noisy areas.
considering to put it either under my carpet or possible on the inside of the ER.

No, I've not seen Acoustiblok.

Check out Soundown also. I have used the Soundown decoupled 1" foam to good effect. They also offer some carpet underlay that is intended to cut noise. I've not used that stuff though although maybe I should.

The carpet is good , but heavy if the engine is under a hatch , rather than in an engine room.

THe 2 inch foam with 2lb lead really helps inside the ER and esp under the PH floor.

I second that. Made a huge difference to us.

FF and Datenight
are you referring to the Acoustiblok carpet underlay?
or you mean the Soundown product?

Sorry, I ment the two inch foam with barrier.

The 2 inch + lead really works!

The soundown carpet underlay also is a good barrier .

This summer I will be going to a place in CT that sells the spray on suff , really pri$y , but our engine space has few flat areas . except the floor in the PH above.

how heavy is that stuff per each sqft?

2 lbs of lead , plus a bit more for the rest.

Check the Soundown site.
