DD, the "hook" end of Smiths gets crowded, I prefer Stingray, with its 3 moorings, half way down Smiths. Yeomans is good, especially if you need to anchor. Castle Lagoon off Yeomans is a delight.
Gotta love the Hawkesbury and its beautiful offshoots.

A little perspective for those who have never been.
That "ditch" (oh how I hate that term for our yet unspoiled waters) yes, between two islands is just over a mile end to end.

Here's the culprit. We saw him the next day. We stayed close together, dog on tight leash. She was very good and just watched as he came near. A bit spooky alright. Apologies for the poor photo.
