That four speed manual is not real common but also not rare, it typically was mated to a 6 cylinder.

I have a 1983 GMC Jimmy 4X4 with a 6.2L diesel. It has over 579,000 miles on it now and I was hoping for a million but I'm retired now and don't drive it much anymore.

I love the simple things. It has crank windows but the tailgate window is power. I do have AC and a nice sound system. Fuel mileage isn't as good with this new diesel as with the old sulphur diesel. Was 24 MPG now 17.8 MPG. I can't understand how improving things results in it being worse.

The oil companies want you to burn more fuel not less

It's funny you can drive a car in Europe that gets 78 MPG and runs like a bat out of hell but here they can't be imported.

They also make the engine for a BMW here that makes that fuel economy, but they send it to Europe. Can't use it here.

Current daily driver for the lovely wife is an Audi Q5 (turbo gas), and mine is an Audi Q7 TDI. The Q5 is fun, but I do love 400+lb ft of diesel torque on command!

2002 Dodge Ram Quad cab pickup with 220 HP Cummins diesel 5 speed manual 2 wheel drive. 22 mpg around town; 24 +/- hiway. 326,000 miles.....still in the break in period. One of these days I'm going to pull the dip stick and see measurable oil use.

Still driving my Dodge. It now has 482,000 miles on it and will be old enough to Vote next November.
