Hi!
We are in the process of removing our genset to make space for a battery pack and inverters. The question is whether it makes sense to put in the effort to save the old genset.
It is a 6.5 kW Onan genset, that is about 30 years old, but generally in good condition. We have no use for the generator personally, so the only reason to pull it in one piece, would be to sell it afterwards.

Would anyone have any idea on the resale value of a 30 year old genset?

Best regards

Around here it’s probably worth 1500 usd. Over there? No idea. Someone might want it as a parts supply to keep another one running.

Those are simple and great gensets that seem to last forever. I would take it out intact and sell it.

Likely a good old Kubota powered MDKD 6.5. If the OP really has no use for it, maybe, but a future owner might. Harder to sell without genset than with, and a beast to remove.
I`m sure it has value but from here, ??how much. Try an advert at 2K?

Thank you very much for all your responses! I will remove in it one piece, and try to sell it. We aren't selling the boat any time in the near future, so the effort to maintain a genset that doesn't get any use, doesn't make sense to us.
