    Jimmy Buffett Dies at 76

Fair winds and following seas JB. Can definitely relate to "Pirate looks at Forty". Grew up a "12 volt man". Ending up with "Last Mango in Paris". snort, puff, swallow

Post #108. " The real problem is it's expensive to be poor." The majority of people on earth are "poor". The only way this expensive solution can move forward is putting it on the backs of the "poor". Is there such a thing as "Not equal giving, but equal sacrifice"?

Friend of mine in FL installed solar panels about 5 years ago. Fell for the sales pitch. Several months ago he called to find out why his electric bill was rising as he is supposed to be selling electricity from his panels to the electric company. Solar guy comes out and tells him he needs to...

    General government policies?

Hard to avoid discussions like these when government policies are so entrenched in our every day lives.

Hey Hip. We are just a retired middle class couple living on less than $4k a month. Have a house in VA and one in FL. Have 2 less than new vehicles. Have 3 boats 20', 26', 36'. Newest is 1995. Do not fly anywhere. Everything paid for. So what do you propose we, as minimally educated infidels...

    Another “I” storm for SWFL

Well hopefully it doesn't spin up too big. House can handle a Cat 1 if I am not there. Anything higher and start losing electric. Ian and Irma were a bit of a mess. Ran generator for 2 weeks.

MMCC is just a power and money grab, similar to covid. The ones in power need to find ways of controlling the masses. You can cancel me now.

    Westerbeke help(??)

Onan 8kw on centerline above stuffing box. Exhaust goes to muffler which about on the same plane as generator. Exhaust exits muffler with large upward arc, maybe 12"-18" above waterline, then down to thruhull about 6" above waterline. Exits port side. Some have large clamshell facing aft and...

    Plow or Bruce?

If you are on the Chesapeake, think the Bruce would be better than the Delta (plow). I did pick up a Delta to supplement my Danforth and SuperMax. The Bruce does not have the fluke surface area of a SuperMax but is similar. My SuperMax is a beast.

We're there not catastrophic storms during the early history of Earth? How many sailing ship wrecks litter the coasts due too inclement weather? Climate change happens. If you want to change your foreseen outcome of the world, make a drastic lifestyle change right now. Are you ready to become...

    Oil grade

I have a 120. Use straight 30 Rotella. If I were to go with a heavier weight it would be a multi viscosity to 40. If you were to operate at lower ambient temps, then a multi would be best.

    Considering a 1987 GB 36 Classic

Comodave is spot on concerning the decks and tanks. When we were looking at 36's, decks and tanks were the two top concerns. Bottom blisters were after those. A worn out interior pales in comparison. Our '79 was lived aboard for 15 years prior to our purchasing. Decks and tanks replaced...

Thank you for letting us join your group

Welcome. As said diesel should be fine. Change filters and get her running. Have plenty of spare fuel filters. Any wave action along the trip will stir up crud laying in the bottom of the fuel tanks. Hopefully you have dual racors filters so you can easily switch to the second racor when the...

Information as to the inland waterway

Seems like he wants to get to and see some of the Bay. Trailering would allow more time there. Could also take 2 weeks exploring Manteo to Hampton and back. His original post said 'cruise both sides of the Chesapeake for a couple of weeks'.
