If I have a 12vdc 100AH battery that has a BMS in it that is 100A max discharge, does this mean if I parallel two of them together I can do a max 200A discharge now?

Thanks

Short answer is yes.

A little longer answer: With a good BMS that keeps the two batteries balanced, yes. Cheap batteries with questionable BMSs, maybe not.

I put your question in practice knowing and agreeing with David and Nicklee.

I had a 600A Li bank. 150A discharge rating from 3 batteries. Bow thruster rated at 355A load. The 3 batteries had no problems other than the voltage going down due to my over use of the thruster. I was in a tight spot. I did add a 4th battery after that.

Also David brings up a very good point.
