Adventurous? Stormbound five days at Cape George, Porcher Island, Hecate Strait, while sea kayaking the coast of BC;

One I took last September coming out of Port Dover harbour into Lake Erie on a sea trial.

Had smooth waters on the 12th heading for the Pittsburg rendevous. For the length of the Carquinez Strait, we ran alongside a tanker and its two tugs bound for the Shell refinery in Martinez. While the water was smooth, the currents were tricky as evidenced by the rear tug.

Gee that looks lovely Eric. That beautiful clear water. Reminds me of Lake Taupo in NZ, and happy days deep trolling for trout there years ago. Seems a lifetime ago now...

Not to hijack the thread...but did you happen to ever go up to "Fairy Springs"?

We were in NZ about 20 years ago for 3 weeks wandering about in a motorhome....wife hired a guide for my birthday....caught the biggest trout of my life!!

Sure did. Always worth a trip there if in the vicinity. We went there several times when we lived in Hawkes Bay. But Taupo is special.....

Another picture of Point Baker. This is in the "Back Channel" south of "downtown". To get to town we went through the narrow channel in the left part of the picture that appears not to exist. The Back Channel is much like a street or road. Skiffs instead of cars.

Mr Elwyn. Nope. never had the pleasure of ANY delicacies from Newfoundland and Labrador (SFP, Brewis, Jiggs dinner etc.). Had a best friend from "The Rock" some time ago. Used to work night shift at the plant. A LOT of time to swap lies.
I really feel that each and EVERY one of these postings answer perfectly the posting of "Why we boat". Simply SPECTACULAR!!!!!

We called Prince of Wales Is "the rock" but it's a farm field compared to where you live. One of those houses yours? .... in the bottom photo?
