The Rock Pile is one of the few places you will cruise that has "U-need-a-diver" signs posted along the way. When you see that, stay in mid channel.

Wow, some really rough water there Eric. He he...

WOW Don,
Either the boat is upside down or the reflection image is clearer than the trees themselves. Could only be more tranquil if the boat was anchored.

Peter,
Mostly because of cloud cover the NW coastal waters are very often calm. Alaska is a land of extremes in many ways.

Eric, we were cruising with a friend's boat. He had a good eye and camera. Being in the TV broadcast business he was very artistic. He. like Marin for Carey, made some great shots for us.

Those were good days. I miss him very much.

Couldn't disagree more! The fact that the boat is moving compliments the stillness of the water. (75% learned..25% intuitive.)

Some more pictures around my neck of the world.. Also one of the reasons we love boating.

The harbor at Edna Bay in SE Alaska. On Prince of Wales Is this is the community farthest west and closest to the open ocean.

This photo must have been taken shortly after I bought the boat, as the name's not yet on the transom.
