    Beware if Selling on CraigsList

I had a similar experience at the AGLCA Looper Crawl a few years ago. We had our boat on the Crawl and for sale by owner. A broker came on my boat and told people that he had a much better listing and handed out cards. Needless to say when I found out about it he was asked to leave our vessel.

    Perkins Questions

We had a 42 Hershine /Jefferson for 12 years that we lived aboard in the San Francisco Bay and cruised both coasts with. It had Range 4 200 turbos in it. They were completely reliable and only required to be preventively maintained. My real question is do you really want a Mainship? They are...

    "Free" anchorage? Not really....

I don't understand "un-patrolled" this is an area under the authority of the U.S. Coast Guard and probably one of the local municipalities. With the Navy being in the are I am sure they should be able to board and check the ownership.

    Previous hull damage

I personally would never buy a cored hulled boat even it had not been in an accident. It is not if but rather when it will get wet. After this damage that will have to be disclosed at resale you will find it very difficult to get a buyer. I say RUN!

Going up and down west coast

We spent a month at Hotel Coral and loved it. A great Ex-Pat group on the dock and first class marina.

Going up and down west coast

A Mainship is not suitable for offshore cruising. They are fine Delta or ICW boats but without a keel and tiny rudders they track like a drunken sailor and are dangerous in a following sea. Definitely would look at other options.

    Radar from WWII...

You are correct. A MainShip really has no need for radar. They should only be used during daylight on smooth water....:whistling::socool:

When you go into a club in many cases they ask for your card and then pull out the YCoA membership book. If your club is not listed, well you get idea.

    Marine engine from China

I can only point out what I have seen as a salesperson. We sell to offshore buyers and have buyers that buy offshore boats. In every case a non mainstream engine has been a deal killer. Even if the buying climate is different where he is building his boat will he keep the boat there when it is...

    Marine engine from China

If I might point one thing out. You will have a VERY hard time when you try to sell the boat. No one wants an off brand or obsolete motor. Hope this helps.

    Yachting Club of America

It allows the club members to utilize other clubs faculties while they are traveling. This can be by boat or other means. The YCoA list gives the clubs faculties that are available for use. When we take a trip back east we often stop at clubs for a drink and or dinner. Last year on a 4 month...
