    30amp reverse Y adapter

Got it. Sorry I didn't read all the posts. My scenario is 2x 30a 125v to 50a 125/250v.

    30amp reverse Y adapter

My shore power connection at the home marina has to use this system. Everything operates normally.

    Tow boat US warning

Use an anchor alarm. If your chartplotter doesn't have one, there are free apps you can put on your phone.

    Mainship 400 new window covers

I did a little shopping with local canvas shops. First quote was almost $1400. Second was $600, which I thought was more in the ballpark. As a former sailmaker, I'm aware of the various materials. I want a mesh product and textilene holds up better to the UV here in Florida than phiphertex...

    Mainship 400 new window covers

It's time to replace the forward window covers on the boat. They are for the 3 foreward windows, the two foreward windows on each side and the starboard door next to the helm. The current covers are made of textilene, which I like. Has anyone replaced them recently? About what did it cost...

    AIS Mounting on a MS400

That's where mine is. Put it where the GPS antenna was installed. The old Raymarine chartplotter was replaced with a Raymarine Axiom, which has an internal antenna.

What year 400? That bunk had different shapes.

    Mainship Pilot headliner replacement

I tried - and failed - several attempts doing it myself and with helpers. Finally gave up and had it redone professionally. Even here in Florida, finding experienced people to do this was a challenge. The one thing I did notice is that the pros use a non-stretchy material vs. what I have seen...

Additional Helm Chairs for 2004 MS 400

Also, please be aware that the wiring run from below is just aft of the starboard seat.

Additional Helm Chairs for 2004 MS 400

I solved the problem of the too low side seats another way. When I replaced the fly bridge cushions, I (approx.) doubled the thickness of those seat cushions. Problem solved. The back/side cushion remained useable.

Main Ship Stair Treads or Non-Slip

I have bought several sets of self-adhesive faux teak deck type step pads from a former MS400 owner who patterned the steps. I find that in Florida they last a max of 2 years before requiring replacement. His info: Keith Capizzi torturedevices@yahoo.com (321) 271-4520

Can you re-puropse the speed wheel through-hull for a washdown?

I am of the philosophy that the less holes in a boat, the better.

Can you re-puropse the speed wheel through-hull for a washdown?

Do you have a raw water inlet for your head? Mine has a Y-valve, which is the water source for the raw water washdown.

Verticle Windlass on a MS 400

    Swim Ladder

Last time I had the boat hauled several years ago, I tackled this project. The manufacturer is still in business, but the pricing is very expensive, somewhere in the neighborhood of $600. and a minimum 4 week wait. Instead, I removed the ladder and had it re-powder coated. Turned out great.

Cruising Grand Bahama and Abacos, need some recommendations

7-10 days is not a doable time frame for going to, cruising, and returning from the Abaco's. We did it last spring. Consider that often you have to wait for an appropriate weather window to cross the Gulfstream. Subscribe to a weather service. Chris Parker is highly recommended...

    Raymarine Speed Tru-Hull

My 400 had a RM paddle wheel and I upgraded to a I50 TriData without having to upgrade the transducer. The thru-hull has a removable plug and I swap out the plug for the transducer when I'm going to use the boat. Besides speed through the water, it also provides sea temp, which is helpful when...

    Mainship 400 Generator Coolant

I wouldn't trust the consistency of Mainship's construction to utilize the measurements from another boat on something like this. What I did was to stand in the lazarette, reach in where the fill is, point your index finger up to the underside of the deck, and touch your finger with the index...

Mainship 400 2006 Head Feed Thru hull

On my 2004 MS400, the raw water valve for the Jabsco head is at the base of the forward berth. Outboard, to starboard of the sump pump. The inlet is shared with the freshwater washdown pump. When I bought the boat seven years ago, none of the sanitation hoses had ever been changed. To change...
