This afternoon I made another access port for cabling from the engine room to the electrical cabinet under the dinette seat. Then I finished off of the cabling for the amps. Just need to sort the RCA leads, hook the amps up to the power source and they’re all done them I pulled the seat lid off the dinette seat, papered the opening up, cleaned the window and covered it with plastic ready to start spraying glue and applying foam tomorrow afternoon.

Happy days! More occurring all the time. Go Matt... GO!!

I’ve run those power cables up into the cabinet because I am going to fit a VSR battery management control system and that what they are for, not the stereo.

Good and bad. My back is bad but not as bad as I thought. Bulged disk and pinched nerve at L2. Waiting for referral to see spinal specialist to talk about options. Not interested in getting cut open. Everyone I spoke to wishes they hadn’t so hopefully there is something else that can be done. I’m sure it will improve when I stop building SOLSTICE and continue my weight loss.

For me it was L5 bulge, and pinch. Guided steroid injection did the trick. Not instant relief but fairly rapid improvement over period of weeks. The bulge kinda resolves/reduces naturally. Key is to understand what movements/actions stress the area (and avoid them!) because it can flare up again. I hope you can get a good outcome!

I have my own disc lesion, and dealt with many Court cases involving backs.Get the best advice you can. If it is tolerable and not worsening maybe deal with it conservatively. My L5/S1 disc protrusion touches the nerve if I overdo it.
If a nerve root is left impinged for a long time, surgery won`t always relieve changed sensation in the leg or foot, so explore treatment options. I believe there are less invasive micro discectomies these days. And there is/was Dr. C Edmund Graham`s papaya enzyme injection into the disc to shrink it, reducing the protrusion.
Good luck, time for my regular swim which keeps my back in check.

Well this afternoon at HMS HENDO I found myself in a bit of a sticky situation ba doom tish... I began spraying glue and applying 6mm foam. Never done big panels like this before but once I worked it out it was good. Pretty exciting doing the upholstery and fitout. Can’t wait to start applying the leatherette and the woven fabric.

Looking good are you using a spray pot for the glue or just aerosol?

Thanks mate. I’m using a gravity fed gun with a 500ml pot and a 3.0mm air cap, needle and nozzle set

The glue I am using is ProBond SG400 (sprayable)

Clean up is with diggers “easy clean up” paint brush cleaner

Well after my exciting outing to the “haberdashery” section of spotlight yesterday haha I felt it only fitting to glue some fabric to the walls. Pretty happy so far. This glue is pretty full on. Doesn’t give you much wiggle room, despite that tho I’m pretty happy. Couple of spots that aren’t ideal but once the fitout is done and the trim goes in your eye won’t be pulled to the crap bits. Once it did what I could on the Portside wall I fitted the subwoofer and glued some foam to the ceiling bulkhead in preparation for the leatherette.

My advice, if you cant or dont want to correct the crap spots, ignore them and dont point them out to people.
If someone is so bold to point them out to you, a comment suck as, "Cant get good help these days.", should make them happy. And make a note to never invite them on the boat again. WINK

Good one!!!

My mom was famous for making me a better person by pointing out crap spots. Thanks to her, I am totally immune to guilt and criticism.

Our Moms had the same training

This arvo I fitted and trimmed some AliGloss panel in the kitchen for the splash back and cut out the two double GPO’s then I cleared out the main saloon in preparation for giving it a light sand then glue on some foam and fabric. Sort of all over the place but I’m doing jobs that require the same material so there’s a method, all be it a revolving one lol.

Greetings,
Mr. H. Kinda late to think of this now but have you thought about or made any provisions for ventilation behind your interior sheeting? Not saying it's necessary and I've been out of timber boats for a LONG time but in general, good ventilation in potentially wet areas minimizes the growth of mould and mildew.

Don't get too dizzied - big guy! :D

Matt, if you start having problems with the glue letting go, pull your panels down, run furring strips along the back of the pannels, and screw them down to the wall. Then run your foam and covering. Tuck the edges under neatly.

This afternoon I pumped out the foam gluing. Couple of times I cooked myself because of the glue so had to stop and get fresh air and before continuing. After the foam was done I finished off the last of the fabric lining material by gluing that to the main saloon walls. Now I’m just chilling out where the bed soon be.

Yeah I have wall vents and treated insulation that won’t allow mould to grow.
